Some of my friends keep asking me how can I manage to read a lot of books. They asked me how to have an interest in reading. This is a story that gives you the truth that my reading-hobby doesn't come in one night.
I started to read when I was 6 years old. I was still in the first grade in elementary school and I couldn't even know how to write 'kambing'. That 'mbing' put me in a huge effort until I asked for help. That was embarrassing, right :) Then, my mom got an ambition to improve my reading and writing skill. Does it sound nice? It wasn't that nice actually. Every day, my mom would make me sit in my chair then I would spend several minutes spelling and reading simple words such as 'tata' 'bala' 'nana' 'baba' 'zizi' yeah something like that.
That was boring because I really hate reading. Fortunately, after a couple of months, I was able to read several sentences fluently. I thought my nightmare had just been over when my mom bought me a Bobo magazine. Of course, I refused her wish to see me reading a full short story. My refusal got her in that huge ambition again, so I spend my time again and again stuck with my mom, reading the whole magazine while she was listening to it.
At first, reading was my biggest nightmare, but then after I knew the main point of the story, the amazing information in the Bobo magazine, the jocularity that Paman Kikuk has, I started to love reading. My mom didn't need to listen to me again, I started to read it to myself. I patronized the Bobo magazine until I graduated from high school. I'm grateful to have that magazine near with me in my childhood, so at least I was able to read in happiness.
Now, I can't stop reading. There are many books that I have read, many poems that I have written, and several short stories that still be placed in my draft document. For me, reading is like a tour, by reading something I get something new. Not just information, but also a new view and a new imagination. Back then, I realize that I'm able to write due to the books I have read before.
If you still find any difficulty in reading a book, don't blame yourself too harshly. It takes two years for me to change myself from a girl who can't read until I finally succeed in reading a light fable book. Just keep your spirit on it, you will finally reach the lastest page of your book.
By the way, if we can't buy an original book, we can use an Ipusnas application so we can be reading without spending any money. Plus, it's legal.
I love reading comics too!
Cheers!

Taking the first step is such a hard thing. If you give up in the beginning, you will never find the interesting and challenging moment ahead. Keep reading and writing.
